Beloved wife of John, much loved mum, grandma, sister, auntie and friend.
Donations in memory of Janet are being gratefully received for MND. As a lifelong Leeds Rhinos rugby league fan and a season ticket holder she could often be seen at the game sitting on the front row of the stands vigorously supporting her team. Janet was inspired by Rob Burrow and his family who have bravely shared an insight into their experiences with MND. Sadly, Rob and his family are one of thousands of families affected by this cruel disease. There are approximately 5000 people in the UK living with MND and we need to continue to be there for these people and their families and carers.
Janet was born in Goole in 1937 before moving to Garforth in her early years where she has lived ever since. In the 1960s she met John and they recently celebrated 57 years together. She enjoyed being involved in local community groups and made many lasting friendships. Mother of 3 and grandma to 5 she loved nothing better than attending family gatherings, parties and holidays.
Janet was a truly wonderful lady and will be missed very much. She will be remembered for being the most loving and caring wife, mum, grandma, sister, auntie and friend and will always be remembered fondly in our heart and thoughts.
